Located walking distance from the Kalamunda town centre, Stirk Park is an iconic and much loved recreational and entertainment space. An open grassed area dotted with trees slopes down to the undercover stage. Behind the stage is a lake which feeds a small shallow creek which runs through the rest of the park between the playground and the Kalamunda Club’s bowling green’s. Kalamunda’s oldest residence – Stirk Cottage – is located adjacent to the Park. There is also a giant chessboard and the Shire of Kalamunda’s ”Liberty Swing” – a world-first Australian innovation, it is a swing that allows wheelchair bound children and adults the opportunity to experience the joy of having a swing in the park. To hire the ”Liberty Swing”, or for more information, please contact the Shire of Kalamunda (08) 9257 9999 or 9257 9958.
