Our story begins in March 2011<\/strong>
\nAfter 2 years of meetings, applications and development of the management plan, the Shire of Kalamunda presented us with a grant and access to the grounds of the historic Headingly House at 8 Lindsay St in Kalamunda.
\nIn April 2013, the circular paved area that we use for most of the talks and workshops was a weed covered rubbish pile and the site was largely long grass.
\nBy October 2013, garden beds were built,paving of the central area was done and planting was well underway.
\nOver the last year the garden has hosted a diverse series of workshops including:
\nbuilding a frog pond, edible weeds, growing and maintaining fruit trees, landscape reticulation and lawn tips, worm farms and herbal teas. The plans for the next 12 months include development of a children’s area, propagation area, and construction of an all weather structure over the paved workshop area.
