How can you bring a park to life?<\/h5>\n

Fleming Reserve in High Wycombe<\/a>\u00a0is a great example of people working together to do just that.\u00a0The High Wycombe Community Association worked with May Carter (PlaceScape) to develop a concept plan for the park. After a year of ongoing community consultation, the plan was taken to the Shire of Kalamunda, which sourced funding for the project.<\/p>\n

The renewed parkland promotes inclusiveness and interaction, with a walking track, playground and skate park and improved access to the bushland space. Infrastructure is built to be accessible and robust and Friends of Fleming Reserve work with groups for continuing revegetation.\u00a0In 2011, the Fleming Reserve Project was recognised by the Department of Sport and Recreation as a finalist in the Open Space Activation Awards and by the Department of Water as a demonstration site for reduction in water use through design.<\/p>\n
