Hartfield Park

Hartfield Park is primarily a public area maintained by Shire of Kalamunda for the use of Clubs involved in sports such as soccer, cricket, rugby, tennis, bowling, hockey and BMX. There is also a Scout Hall. Each discipline has its own club rooms leased from the Shire. There is one playground adjacent to the Kalamunda Districts Rugby Union Club. The grounds are available for hire. There is also a first class golf club. Between the team sports and the golf club there are Forrestfield Federation Gardens which is a dog exercise area containing a large lake, one garden seat and two picnic tables. No other facilities. The lake is surrounded by an all weather concrete path.

Rangeview Park

Rangeview Park is a grassed area with trees for shade. There are four full sized tennis courts, plus a half court and associated buildings. The playground is shaded by trees and consists of monkey bars, swings and slide. Every year on the first Sunday in December, the Maida Vale Baptist Church holds their annual ‘Christmas at the Fair’ event in Rangeview Park. ‘Christmas at the Fair’ is always a huge success usually attracting up to 4000 people. Activities include – interacting with animals from Old Macdonald’s Farm, participating in circus skills, games and craft activities, eating together, enjoying live music and supporting local community groups.

Hale Road Easement

The Hale Road Easement is an overgrown piece of bush, parts of which have been cleared and two sets of BMX jumping mounds have been constructed by the Shire of Kalamunda. Coffee is available a short walk away at the Forrestfield Forum.

Kostera Cricket Oval

Kostera Oval is utilised by sporting clubs and schools for various activities. It is one of the Shire of Kalamunda’s major recreational grounds. The Oval backs onto Kalamunda Senior High School. It is used by the Kalamunda Cricket Club and the annual Agricultural Show is also held here. The Lapidary Club also has its rooms in a building located on the Recreation Road side. The playground is semi fenced. The grounds are managed by the Shire of Kalamunda and are available for hire (phone: 9359 1700). There is adequate parking and the Reserve is accessible by bus. The Kalamunda town centre is located within easy walking distance. Hedley Jorgensen Oval backs onto Kostera Oval.

Ray Owen Reserve

Ray Owen Reserve is utilised by sporting clubs and schools for various activities. It is one of the Shire of Kalamunda’s major recreational grounds and is located in Lesmurdie. It is used by the Kalamunda Junior Football Club, as well as other sporting clubs and organisations and also has a BMX track. Ray Owen Reserve is set to have a major upgrade in the near future. The grounds are managed by the Shire of Kalamunda and are available for hire (phone: (08) 9359 1700). There is adequate parking and the Reserve is accessible by bus.

Dawson Park

The large sporting area is bisected by Dawson Road. On the west side there are Soft Ball and Rugby League pitches. Vehicle access only when games are in progress. On the East side there are Soccer and Australian Rules pitches and an unfenced playground.

Kalamunda Town Square

Between Barber Street and Central Mall, Kalamunda, 6076
The square is on three levels interconnected by smooth paved pathways, suitable for wheelchairs. At the upper end is the Kalamunda KADS theatre which was originally built as the first Anglican Church in Kalamunda, and was used as the Ambulance Hall for many years.
Every Saturday there is a local market held in the square. The small Community Hall can be hired for functions.
