Nature Playscape in Wattle Grove

Have you heard about the new nature playscape in Wattle Grove? The Shire of Kalamunda led this project which cost approximately $370,000 and was completed in August. The exciting new development incorporates the natural environment in its design to enhance the children’s play experience in the great outdoors.

CEO Rhonda Hardy said, “The Nature Playscape features some creative environmental elements including a timber platform lookout, dry stream bed, tunnel through mound, bush cubby, large log and net climb to test climbing and reaching skills, bike track traversing the boundary of the Playscape and balancing logs to play on.”

“The playground also includes an interactive 5-way swing, slide area, hammock, picnic area and drinking fountain.”

“Trees, wood, rocks and plants are an integral part of the design, with native landscaping and existing mature trees complementing many of the children’s activities,” he said.

“The site provides a unique area for children to play and reconnect with the natural elements in nature, as well as provide a welcoming family picnic area,” he said.

The Wattle Grove nature playscape is located in Lenihan Corner, Wattle Grove.
